Our Commitment to Sustainability ♻️

Ever wondered where appliances go once you throw them out and what effects this type of waste can have on the environment? At Froothie, caring for the environment and doing our part to promote sustainability is an important component of who we are and what we stand for.

That’s why we want to share with you a bit about the impact of waste on the environment and how you too can contribute to protecting it by properly disposing of appliances, devices, and other types of electronic or packaging waste.

The first thing you should know is that any appliance and electronic device is recyclable as long as it is not sent to the landfill.

Nowadays, recycling is easier than ever as manufacturers like us as well as authorities and NGOs are working together to collect and convert waste and reuse materials in order to prevent more waste from piling up.

Keep reading to find out what happens to your old TV, toaster, dishwasher, and blender once you decide it’s time for a new one and how you can prevent waste and make a positive impact.

Why a Sustainable Perspective Is Important

Once it hits the landfills, electronic waste piles up and releases toxins that are harmful to the soil and the air we breathe.

On top of this, constantly producing new devices instead of recycling older ones and sustainably reusing materials increases the consumption of energy and water and increases levels of pollution.

Our support for sustainability stems from our dream of a future with a cleaner environment, where landfills are no longer the only option and where resources are reused and recycled materials are the norm. For this reason, we do our part in sharing important information about how our products can be safely disposed of and recycled so that both our environment and our economy can thrive.

How to Dispose of Froothie Products

All of our amazing Optimum blenders, juicers, and home cooking appliances are fully recyclable as long as they are disposed of properly. So is our packaging. And, because we know our customers are just as committed to the environment and sustainability as we are, we want to make sure you have all the information you need to make sure your old blender, juicer, thermocooker, air fryer, or bread maker gets a chance at a new life and contributes to our common goal of creating a sustainable future.

Here are a few useful resources that will set you on your way to properly recycling your old appliances and electronic devices or e-waste, as well as the packaging:

Recycling E-Waste

The first step in choosing the best place to dispose of your old appliance is determining whether it is still functional. If your blender, for instance, is still functioning but you decided to switch that model for a new one, you could consider selling it or donating it.

For more on donating your appliances, check out the resources offered by platforms like Wisemove or organisations like Freecycle

If your appliance is no longer functional, it’s time for it to be put to another type of good use, namely re-use. You can use the Techcollect website to scout for the nearest locations where you can drop off your e-waste. Alternatively, you can check out the Techcollect and Appliancerecycling websites to find recycling hubs or the Aucklandcouncil  or the Computerrecycling websites for more on how to dispose of electrical appliances.

Recycling Plastic, Cardboard, Metal, or Glass

Our appliances and packaging are made from different materials and each of these materials no matter if we are talking about plastic, glass, metal, or cardboard can be recycled or reused. Again, the only condition that needs to be met is for these materials to make it to the right place where they can be collected in order to be repurposed.

Depending on the type of bin system you use, you can check out the Beatidykiwi website to determine where each of these materials should go and find drop-off locations for different types of waste. For example, any cardboard packaging or glass items such as blender jars can safely go into the yellow recycling bin.

We hope you find this information useful and use it anytime you want to dispose of Froothie products keeping the environment and sustainability in mind. Remember, there is no planet B so it’s up to us to keep this one safe!
